Karim's work criticizes the lack of realism in the fashion world. The ideal bodies surrounded by utopian landscapes are intervened with expressive paint strokes, changing or emphasizing the original features of the model, creating a series of incredible surrealistic portraits.
The artist's works function as an escape door, saving us from unreachable dreams. The layers of paint and the strokes of the marker block our view and send us back to what we ought to see.

Karim Adduchi:” I want to play a visual game by manipulating fashion images, selling a kind of beauty that is sometimes more real, metaphoric, with humour, or sarcasm. We are so used to see perfect beauty related to a person, that when we put them next to those big fashion names, their face or beauty becomes more deep and intriguing on our eyes and mind.
The work I am planning is a critique, not against the fashion world, but just a critique with questions and observations about it, but keeping the fresh atmosphere of the original images.”

“Gues” is a mixed media work created by the artist with markers and scraps of photographs, magazines and prints on high quality paper. The work is framed in a white wood frame with plexiglass. All works are signed by the artist and will be delivered directly from the artist’s studio with a certificate of authenticity.
