From the Lobster Dress by Salvador Dalí and Elsa Schiaparelli in 1937; the iconic Mondrian collection created by Yves Saint Laurent in 1965, to Dior’s fashion collection inspired by Gustav Klimt’s paintings in 2008 - fashion and art have been the greatest manifestations of innovation that have transcended our visual culture.
The mutual inspiration between art and fashion has gained access to different layers of our society and connected the greatest aesthetic and artistic exponents of the contemporary world to the most remote places on the planet. This complex, contradictory and fascinating convergence communicates and creates a language that has redefined our culture and driven many generations of artists and designers.
Inspired by this concept, here is a new special collection relating art, lifestyle and fashion. We are pleased to present the exclusive collaboration with the renowned Spanish fashion consultant Blanca Miró, who has chosen her favorite artworks from our gallery and created her unique collection: BLANCA MIRÓ x ARTIG GALLERY.
Blanca Miró has become a style reference through her transcendent creativity, audacity and originality. She has starred in numerous international collaborations with big fashion designers such as Anya Hindmarch, Linda Farrow, Filles a Papa, Loewe and Gucci, among others. For Blanca, fashion is her form of communication and her perception of reality. With her distinct and unmistakable aesthetic and her intuitive relationship with fashion, design and photography, she has conceptualized an exclusive collection of works created by Artig Gallery’s artists.
Her collection is a complex group of artworks loaded with a bold femininity, daring compositional lines and an obvious influence of pop culture. Blanca loves collages and mixed media; the union and deconstruction of various pieces to create something completely new is part of her vision in both fashion and art. The collection highlights artists such as Jimmy Millán and Gwen Versluis, whose avant-garde pieces define the tone of the collection.
Additionally, she selected more abstract pieces from artists like Gyula Sagi, Karl Bielik and Serafin Llopir, whose works create a compositional range through lines and color contrasts, that complement the selection. Regarding photography, Blanca chose limited editions by Roger Grasas and Dirk Brömmel to include in her selection. These travel photographs with their vibrant colors and exoticism give her selection a cosmopolitan component.
