ABOUT THE ARTIST
Raised in Mexico City, and currently based in New York, Aaron Alamo is an international photographer dedicated to the exploration of the expiration date of life and photography. Submerged in the worlds of art and design, Aaron decided more than ten years ago to start a project that portrays the subject of photography and its decomposition from a contemporary perspective but using the artistic theme par excellence of the expiry of the elements: The Baroque Vanitas. Vanitas is one of the most recurrent themes in the paintings of the Flemish Baroque, which seeks to portray the fragility and passage of time, emphasizing the ethereal of each moment lived.

In his works, Aaron Alamo uses the typical visual elements of the Vanitas and adds some contemporary objects, but his message transcends a mere aesthetic, as he plays with our idea of photography and art as eternal elements. His work is a photograph of a 10 year old photograph, that has been treated with humidity and bacteria for its prompt decomposition. Aaron's work is a debate about the temporality of art and the concept of eternity.

All artworks are numbered originals and come with a signed certificate of authenticity. Insured shipping directly from the artist’s studio.
