CITY: Barcelona, España
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marcos Peinado is an artist who lives and works in Barcelona, Spain. He studied Fine Arts, specializing in design and painting. Today, Marcos works as a designer and art director, however his true passion is painting. The sublime interaction between light and volume is what captivates the artist; Barcelona is his muse and simplicity his motto.
His work is defined by synthesis, his paintings are the result of a laborious process of decomposition of contrasting solid planes, which are in continuous interaction with light, creating an infinite number of perspectives and volumes. These spaces, which are constantly changing, abandon their primary function of utility to become true art pieces when they are monumentally immortalized by Marcos's brush.
Artig Gallery presents an original collection of paintings created by Marcos in acrylic on canvas. All works are signed by the artist and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
IN MY OWN WORDS:
“The city creates spaces and structures, volumes and geometries. The metropolis imagines and builds up spaces, we live in there, we make visual and physical paths, from inside out and from outside in. We are observers of plans and curves that melt with lights and colors, and we interact with the space that surround us. We as extraordinary individuals enjoy structures and geometries that show their pure spatial synthesis, turning us into observers of an extraordinarily predictable display of shapes and volumes.”
